Celebrating it's 50th Season

Launceston Little Athletics celebrates its 50th Season in 2023/2024.
In August 1973 the first meeting of Little Athletics was announced in Launceston under the guidance
of Mr Les Capes from Western Australia who had been involved in Little Athletics in that state.

Mr Capes was the first President of the Launceston Little Athletics Centre with 394 athletes registered
that season. In the last 50 Seasons Launceston has seen many children grow a love of athletics, create lasting friendships and has provided a stepping stone for some wonderful athletes who have excelled in many sports at a high level.
Launceston Little Athletics continues to create a Family friendly environment for children to compete in track and field events, improving on their Personal Best performances and making
memories that will last a lifetime.
